Presently, the procession accompanying the three-time Chief Minister on his final abode is going towards the Sukreswar Temple in Guwahati. Earlier, his mortal remains were taken to Catholic Church at Rukminigoan, Zoo Road Naamghor and Burha Jame Masjid in Ambari.
Lakhs of people have thronged the streets to have a last glimpse of the Congress stalwart.
Showers of flowers have been bestowed on the decorated vehicle carrying the mortal remains of Tarun Gogoi for an inter-faith religious tour of the city before the cremation at Navagraha Crematorium in Guwahati.
