GUWAHATI: A meeting was held on January 11 which was attended by Pallav Gopal Jha, IAS, Managing Director of Guwahati Jal Board and key officials, engineers, and contractors from Project Implementation Unit (PIU) and Project Management Consultant (PMC) under the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Assisted Greater Guwahati Water Supply Project (GWSP) to discuss the upcoming commissioning of the water supply project under JICA.
The meeting included the presence of Panchami Choudhury, ACS, Secretary of Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDW and SB) cum Additional Project Director of JICA Assisted GWSP.
The primary focus of the meeting was on deliberating the distribution packages concerning the upcoming phase of commissioning.
Matters related to reservoir and transmission were also on the agenda.
Additionally, the progress of the North Guwahati project was reviewed, with special attention given to soil protection works in that region.
The collaborative efforts between the Guwahati Jal Board, JICA Assisted GWSP, and associated stakeholders aim to enhance water supply infrastructure in the region.
