GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) recently conducted an eviction drive of poultry shops, as well as restaurants, lodges and hotel fast food in Paltan Bazar, Bhangagarh and Ganeshguri area.
The authorities inspected a total of 137 poultry shops and conducted evictions in Ulubari, Bhangagarh and Ganeshguri areas. They further imposed a fine of Rs 15,500 on these shops.
Additionally, the health branch of the GMC undertook inspection of 44 fast food joints, restaurants and lodges in Paltan Bazar, Ganeshguri as well as Bhangagarh areas. They collected a total fine of Rs 22,500 from these restaurants.
