GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has fixed parking charges allocated to two-wheelers, cars, and trucks.

The decision has been made owing to "unscrupulous agents at GMC parking spots" who might demand exorbitant prices at the parking. GMC has also asked vehicle owners to "beware" of such agents.
The rates fixed by the municipal body are as follows:
For two-wheelers, Rs. 5 for the first two hours. This is followed by Rs 5 for every subsequent hour.
As for three and four-wheelers, Rs 10 will be charged for the first two hours, to be followed by Rs 10 for every subsequent hour. For the trucks the same rules apply, except the base price is Rs 20.
The corporation has also provided five helpline numbers for any grievances. Complaints can be made to the GMC control room at 8811007000, 7399003001, 7399003002, 7399003003, 739900300.
