The meeting took place in the conference room of the Kamrup Metropolitan District Commissioner’s office, chaired by Additional District Commissioner Biswajit Saikia.

During the meeting, it was stated that food and drinking water distribution by institutions would be strictly regulated. The Additional District Commissioner, Biswajit Saikia, clarified that no institution would be permitted to distribute food or water at locations of their choosing during the Ambubachi Mela. Instead, such activities would only be allowed at designated spots with prior permission from the district administration.

Furthermore, officials from the Food and Civil Supplies Department will be stationed at each designated distribution point to ensure proper management and compliance with the guidelines.

In addition, considering that some devotees take shelter at Basistha Temple during Ambubachi, arrangements and oversight will be managed by the temple caretaker starting this year.
