GUWAHATI: The Dispur police on Wednesday, October 27, detained four more persons linked to the double murder case of the elderly couple in Beltola, Guwahati. The alleged accused identified as Jon Saikia, Buddhadeb, Satyendra Singh, and Paresh Choudhury have been brought to the Dispur Police Station for interrogation.

As per sources, the four persons had a drinks party on the night of the murder with the accused Akash Choudhury, who was arrested on Tuesday night by the Dispur police. The Police are finding further links to ascertain the whole sequence of events.

The Police had earlier revealed that the caretaker staged a dacoity to hide what was a cold-blooded murder that he perpetrated in order to take over the couple's property. As per sources, a few substances were added to the food served to the couple that night, following which they were hit on the head. The forensics are accessing the matter.

The couple, Noni Gopal Baruah age 87 and Mina Baruah age 76, survived two daughters, one in Mumbai and the other in England. One of the daughters reached Guwahati in the evening following the news of the murder. "They need to catch the culprits and make sure this doesn't happen to any other family," the daughter told reporters.
