GUWAHATI: In a recent enforcement operation conducted by the authorities in Guwahati, significant progress was made to curb illicit activities in the region. On August 22, the Dispur Circle was the focal point of this initiative, covering areas including Barberi Bazar, Krishnanagar, and Hengrabari Lisubagan, among others.
As part of the operation, a close examination of the situation was carried out, yielding notable results. Notably, no cases were registered under Section 53(1)a during this operation.
The operation also led to substantial seizures, recoveries, and destruction of illicit substances. A total of 380 kilograms of fireworks, 80 litres of illegally distributed liquor, and 4 numbers of other contraband items were recovered, seized, and subsequently destroyed.
This operation will go a long way to maintain public safety and clamp down on illegal activities that can endanger the well-being of the residents as well as to ensure a secure and controlled environment within Kamrup Metro.
