Guwahati: Fire Breaks Out Near Kali Mandir, Fancy Bazar

GUWAHATI: A fire broke out near Kali Mandir in Fancy Bazar on Monday, October 7, damaging property estimated at ₹50,000. The incident occurred at an electric transformer in the area, and the Panbazar Fire and Emergency Services Station (F&ESS) responded to control the situation.

The fire call was received at 12:25 PM, with the first team reaching the site at 12:26 PM. Firefighters used a combination of compressed air foam (CAF) and water from the Water Tender Pump (WTP) to extinguish the blaze. The crew returned to the station at 1:25 PM after successfully bringing the fire under control.

The transformer, owned by Kundan Poddar, was reported to have suffered damage, with property losses estimated at ₹50,000. However, the timely intervention of the F&ESS saved property worth ₹30,000.

Speaking to GPlus, an official from Panbazar F&ESS said, "No casualties were reported."
