Guwahati: Eviction In Jalukbari By NFR & District Administration

GUWAHATI: Two unauthorised structures were evicted in North Kamrup Jalukbari area by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) and District Administration officials on August 30, 2024.

The eviction, targeting illegal constructions was on railway land.

According to officials, the structures were built by M. Ali and S.M. Alam on railway plots numbered 35 and 7 in North Jalukbari, Kamrup (Metro), Assam. The operation to clear the unauthorized buildings began at 10:30 a.m. and concluded by 2:30 p.m., under the strict supervision of Divisional Engineer (DEN), Assistant Divisional Engineer (ADEN) from Guwahati, and a magistrate from the Kamrup (Metro) district administration.

Various authorities were on-site when the eviction was conducted. A magistrate oversaw the entire operation, while the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jalukbari Police, along with a strong contingent of 50 police and CRPF personnel, were present to maintain law and order. The team was also equipped with a fire brigade and an ambulance to handle any emergencies.
