GUWAHATI: An enquiry has been ordered into the death of a Sessional Under Trial Prisoner (UTP), Rasid Seikh (29), after he was declared brought dead by Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) authorities on 25th December, 2020.
On December 25, Sess. UTP Rasid Seikh was taken to GMCH for emergency treatment and investigation. Upon arrival, he was declared dead by the GMCH authorities, following which the Superintendent, Central Jail, Sarusajai has written a letter to Assistant Commissioner ACS, Bhasker Jyoti Kalita.
The enquiry will submit its findings within 15 days, along with Medical Treatment Record, Health Screening Record, PM Report, Inquest Report/CD of PM, Viscera Examination Report and final cause of death as per FSI, Report etc. for onward submission to the NHRC/AHRC.
