Guwahati Doctor Falls Prey To Cyber Fraud, CID Recovers ₹42 Lakh Of Over ₹ 2 Crore

 

GUWAHATI: The CID Cyber Police Station has recovered ₹42,17,839 in connection with a large-scale financial fraud case reported by a doctor. The case, involving unauthorised transactions totaling ₹2,01,73,200 from the victim's accounts, spanned from April 3, to May 27.

The fraudulent transactions were carried out across seven different bank accounts, including ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, UCO Bank, and two accounts from Punjab National Bank (PNB).

The complainant, who lodged the FIR on June 1,  highlighted the financial irregularities affecting his accounts. Acting swiftly, the CID cyber division conducted a thorough investigation and was able to trace and recover a portion of the lost funds. 

According to a CID source, the recovered amount has been successfully re-credited to the victim's accounts. Efforts continue to recover the remaining funds and apprehend those responsible for the fraud.
