GUWAHATI: Cotton University has taken a significant step towards promoting psychological well-being among its students. The institution has launched a year-long 'Psychological Health and Perfection of Personality' lecture series. The series commenced with an online inaugural session on August 15.
This extensive programme consists of a total of one hundred sessions, with two sessions being conducted each week and is being delivered online.
The lecture format includes formal talks by appointed speakers, followed by interactive discussions. Moreover, speakers will occasionally share relevant text materials on a WhatsApp group created by the organisers.
Speaking to G Plus, Ramesh Chandra Deka, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of Cotton University, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative. He highlighted the pressing issue of stress faced by the students and emphasised the programme's potential to aid students in overcoming these challenges.
"At least 200 participants took part in the programme and 300 candidates registered for the programme," VC Deka said.
"With this lecture series, Cotton University aims to equip its students with valuable insights and tools to enhance their psychological well-being and achieve personal growth," Deka further added.
