GUWAHATI: A scuffle had broken out on the night of February 16 allegedly between a few students of Cotton University and the owner and employees of The Delhi 6 BBQ, a popular food joint located on Cotton University Road, Guwahati.
The violent ruckus happened in the Panbazar area of the city and the four accused were identified by the Panbazar Police Station as current students of Cotton University and boarders of the SNBC hostel.
Previously, G Plus had confirmed that the attack was unprovoked and occurred primarily because of a dispute between the four accused and the employees of the food joint. The dispute allegedly stemmed because the employees did not know how to speak in fluent Assamese.
G Plus spoke to Sameer Ahmed, owner of The Delhi 6 BBQ who confirmed that the accused had been identified by the Panbazar Police Station.
An official of the Police Station clarified that they have not been apprehended yet.
“All four of them seem to be absconding. We are hoping to catch them soon," he added.
