GUWAHATI: A chain snatching incident occurred in the Kumarpara vicinity of Guwahati on October 6, the CCTV footage of which has been circulating on social media.
The incident was caught in CCTV footage of the residence of the victim, wherein the victim was seated right outside his residence, when the snatcher suddenly approached him, yanked his chain and swiftly made his escape.
In the footage, there was another person on the bike, who is alleged to be the accomplice of the snatcher. As per the video footage, they were seen conversing prior to the event.
Following this incident, an FIR was filed in the Bharalumukh Police Station.
Speaking to GPlus, an official from Bharalumukh Police Station stated that the incident occurred at around 10 AM.
Currently, the police officials are investigating this matter and further details await.
A similar incident was reported in Boripara, Maligaon two days ago, where two miscreants who were on the bike, snatched the chain of a woman named Basanti Debnath in broad daylight. However, the snatchers couldn't be identified as both of the snatchers wore helmets.
