GUWAHATI: Guwahati police issued prohibitory orders via a notice on Friday, January 17, to ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming government examinations, to be held on January 19.

The written exams are for Graduate and Post Graduate Teachers in secondary schools and the Departmental Promotion Examination (DPE 2025) of Assam Police, which will take place on the same day across various centres in the city.
The prohibitory orders issued in the notice have restricted entry within 100 metres of examination centres, except for specific categories of individuals, such as candidates with valid admit cards, officials engaged in the examination process, police personnel on examination duty, and authorised officials from the District Commissioner’s office and Inspectors of Schools.
The examinations will see a total of 24,683 candidates appearing in two shifts – 13,822 candidates in the first shift and 10,861 in the second shift.
