GUWAHATI: On the occasion of India’s Republic Day, Saiyam Mazumder and Chandra Keshar Yadav from Guwahati, Assam hoisted the Indian Tricolour atop Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak.
Mazumder and Yadav carried a 20-foot Assamese gamusa to the summit, blending patriotism with cultural pride.
The expedition, organised under the Fly High Mission and spearheaded by Yadav, served as an emblem of resilience and ambition, particularly for youth in Northeast India.
Speaking to GPlus, Mazumder shared, “Standing on the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro with the Tricolour and Assam’s gamusa on Republic Day is an experience I will cherish forever. It’s a reminder that no dream is too big when you have determination.”
Additionally, Yadav said, “This achievement is not just about reaching a mountain peak. It’s about inspiring thousands of young Indians to dream big, stay connected to their roots, and take courageous steps toward creating a brighter future.”
