GUWAHATI: The body of 8-year-old Avinash Sarkar, who was swept away by the waters of a roadside drain in the Jyoti Nagar locality on Thursday, July 4, has been found this morning from a drain in Rajgarh around 9:00 AM.

After a frantic search by SDRF, NDRF and Assam State Police for 3 days, the minor’s body was finally recovered.
Avinash had been returning home on a scooter with his father and another man when the scooter skid and the boy fell into the drain, leading to the incident. The father tried to get hold of his son but was unable to, as the flowing flood waters took the boy along with it.
Talking to GPlus, a source in DDMA confirmed to GPlus that the body found in Rajgarh is indeed that of Avinash Sarkar.
