GUWAHATI: The Containment Zone in B. Barooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) will be lifted tomorrow, May 22. This was stated by health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press conference on May 21.
The BBCI Guwahati was declared as a containment zone from 8th May after a 16-year-old who was posthumously detected to be COVID-19 positive had stayed in the staff quarters.
On 9th May, the hospital opened emergency services for cancer patients.

From 11th May, the institute started providing services to all patients taking regular radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
