Guwahati: Assam Government To Organise Brahmaputra Carnival During New Years

GUWAHATI: The Assam Tourism Department is planning to organise the Brahmaputra Carnival from December 31, 2022, to January 17, 2023 which will include various events organised in and around Guwahati.

A source in the Assam Tourism Department while talking to G Plus said, “All tourism related departments of the state government will be engaged for the celebrations.” 

From December 31, 2022 till January 17, 2023, a special event will be organised at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati, every day.

There will be other events also in and around the city like – Cycle rally, marathon, book fair, film festival, food festival, kite festival, beach festival on the banks of Brahmaputra, and many more.

“Prominent artists will be invited to perform during the carnival,” said the source. 

The department will not directly organise, but the event organisers will approach the government with a plan, and if the plan is feasible, the government will approve, said the source.
