GUWAHATI: In a distressing incident, another pipe leakage incident was reported from Mother Teresa Road, Geetanagar, which was installed under the Guwahati Jal Board project.
Speaking to G Plus, Debasish Bohra a resident of Geetanagar claimed that, "There have been frequent pipe leakage issues happening in this area and there is no permanent solution to this."
Another resident of Geetanagar, Seema Borkotoky told G Plus that this incident occurred during afternoon hours.
However, upon speaking to an official from Guwahati Jal Board it has been found that this leakage was due to a house service connection leakage and they are actively working on this to resolve the issue.
This marks the third occurrence of a pipe leakage incident in the Geetanagar area. In previous instances, one was caused by a house service leakage, while the initial incident resulted from an air blockage within the pipe.
Officials have pointed out that the majority of these incidents were caused by faulty and rusty old pipes, indicating the urgent need for replacements.
