The Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport in Guwahati is set to start 24 X 7 flight services from 25 March of this year. Currently, flights are available till 9:30 PM only.

The reason behind this was the lack of demand for late night flights. However, three major operators from this sector which are Air Asia, IndiGo and Spicejet, have shown interest to provide the same.

D.K. Kamra, Regional Executive Director of Airports Authority of India, Northeast Region said, “Indigo has already booked 2 parking bays for the purpose of late night flights."

The LGBI Airport is ready to undergo a massive overhaul as Rs. 1243 Crores has been sanctioned for the upgradation of the same.
