GUWAHATI: The newly constructed park by the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) at Adabari in Guwahati will be inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma before Christmas, on December 24.

The Adabari Park has been built at an approximate area of 8 bighas at the site of the Assam State Housing Board. The space is developed for recreational purposes, considering its need to build a cohesive area in the commercially busy locality of Maligaon, Guwahati.

Apart from the manicured garden area, the Adabari Park has an open-air theatre along with a green room with a sitting capacity of 250, a meditation hall, and 3 kiosks. There is also a mural artwork dais, a beautiful fountain, a children's area, a toilet block, and a ticket counter.

Considering the topography of the location, an existing water body has been retained to hold the run-off water of the Park.

The entry tickets for adults will be Rs 30 and for children below 12 years will be Rs 15.
