GUWAHATI: The Academic Building and Auditorium at the City Campus of Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU), located in Khanapara, Guwahati was inaugurated on February 5.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the new structures.
KKHSOU, established in 2005 as the first of its kind in the North-East, has played a pivotal role in facilitating education through Open Learning mode. In the fiscal year 2022-23, the university served the academic needs of over 75,000 students.
During the inauguration event, CM Sarma earmarked a financial assistance of ₹20 crore for the development of the Rani Campus of the university. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Education Minister Ranoj Pegu and Education Advisor NG Mahanta.
