GUWAHATI: A 24-year-old man, identified as Bikash Barua from Dhemaji, was arrested on Saturday, June 15 for fleeing with a 17-year-old girl from Guwahati to Kerala.

An official from Chandmari police station told GPlus, "The couple fled a few months back. Initially, another man took her, but she was later found with Bikash." The girl's family had lodged a complaint at the Chandmari police station.
Based on the complaint, the police successfully apprehended both Bikash and the minor girl from Kerala and brought them to Guwahati. They are currently in custody at the Chandmari police station. Bikash is being charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
