GUWAHATI: 21 people have been sent to jail over matters of theft and stealing in connection with cases registered under Geetanagar Police Station, Guwahati in the past one month. This was informed to G Plus by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bipul Boro.
The police have indicated drugs and substance abuse a driving factor for the crimes committed in the area. The police claim that recent arrests have reduced the incidents of theft-related activities.
Meanwhile, cases of snatching were reported in Henruali, Palas Path of the Jonali area under Geetanagar Police Station. “Instances of mobile and gold snatching have risen in the area,” a local alleged, speaking to G Plus.

G Plus spoke to a local resident who on the condition of anonymity alleged that she had been followed by people in the same area of Guwahati.
