Gunotsav Results Out, A+ Schools Increases by 11 Percent

GUWAHATI: The number of state government-run schools which got the coveted A+ grade has increased by 11 percent and has crossed the 10,500 mark, according to results of the Gunotsav which was declared on March 8. 23 percent of the schools surveyed got the A+ grade. In 2017, this number was only 12 percent. 

The Gunotsav is an evaluation and quality control exercise based on which government schools in Assam are being assessed. The quality of students, more than the infrastructure of the school determined the grades during this Gunotsav exercise.

Students of class II-IX across 46,404 schools in Assam were assessed by ministers, MLAs, IAS, IPS officers along with senior government officials during the exercise.
