GUWAHATI: There has been a delay in the publication of the merit list and the process of seat allocation at Gauhati University as several applicants made an error in filling up forms after the introduction of a centralised admission process for postgraduate courses.
Speaking to Times of India, HK Nath, secretary of university classes at GU mentioned that many applicants found it difficult to fill the application forms correctly as several of them did not fill in their choice of colleges in order of preference. Thus, the students might end up getting a seat at a college of their choice even if they did not make the cut.
It should be noted that GU had earlier this year conducted a centralized admission process to enroll students in postgraduate courses offered by colleges affiliated to the university.
