GUWAHATI: The grocery section of shopping malls and departmental stores in Kamrup (M) district are exempted from the lockdown process with effect from March 26, states an order issued by the Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu.
The order further states that the grocery section shall solely sell grocery items, and at current market prices.
"Penal action will be initiated if hoarding of items and selling of items in higher price is reported, " it states.
Additionally, only five persons will be allowed to enter the shop at a time and the management will maintain social distancing.
The shop owners / management have been asked by authorities to frequently sanitize the mart / shop and maintain hygiene.
The use to plastic has also been prohibited.
