Govt to Appoint 11,000 TET Teachers Before Bohag Bihu: Himanta Biswa

GUWAHATI: The state government is set to appoint around 11,000 teachers before Bohag Bihu, said state education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in the Assam legislative assembly on Thursday, March 12.  

While speaking in the assembly Sarma said, “We aim to appoint around 11,000 teachers through TET in the lower primary schools. There are two cases which are pending in the High Court and if we win these cases, we can appoint 11,000 teachers within this month itself.” 

The minister further added that there are a lot of posts which are vacant in around 322 colleges in the state which will be filled soon.

He said, “The vacancies in LP and High schools will also be filled within 45 days.”

Sarma also mentioned that the government will hold a discussion over the examination dates for the TET exams for Higher Secondary Schools which will be announced soon.
