Govt of India initiates Mission Indradhanush to immunize women and children

The Government of India has initiated Mission Indradhanush to strengthen the Routine Immunization programme. The programme is scheduled to be held on 9th, 13th and 14th February, at Dhirenpara of Guwahati. The programme is aimed to immunize all children under the age of 2 years, all pregnant women, against seven vaccine preventable diseases. Dr Ganesh Saikia, Director of Health Services, Kamrup (M) says that the total target population (0-2 years) is 66 nos, while the target for pregnant women is 8 nos. During the first day, the sessions will be held at Harizone Colony and ASEB Colony, Itavata, Athgaon Alugudam & Haldhigoli, Bishnupur, Dilip Hujuri Path, Fatasil, Mithigapuri Hill, Kalapahar Hill Side, and Krishna Nagar.
