Google Doodle Marks Shortest Day of the Year

Google doodle has designed a doodle to mark the shortest day of the year. 21st of December is said to be the shortest day of the year, which is it is called the “Winter Solstice”. It is the shortest day across the northern hemisphere as it has very few hours of daylight. It is believed that, after the solstice, the days get longer and the nights get shorter.

In the logo, it can also be seen that Jupiter and Saturn overlap in the night sky. It is called The Great Conjunction.

This animated graphic is an interesting work showing the two planets, Jupiter and Saturn, overlapping in the sky to celebrate the shortest day of the year.
