GUWAHATI: A major disruption in train services has occurred in Assam's Lumding-Badarpur Hill section following the derailment of a loaded goods wagon inside tunnel no.2 near Mupa at kilometre marker 52/5. This incident took place at approximately 4PM on Thursday, October 31.

The derailment has impacted train schedules across the region, with numerous trains cancelled, partially cancelled, or rescheduled as railway authorities work to restore normal operations.
Cancellation: This includes key routes such as the Guwahati-Agartala, New Jalpaiguri-Guwahati, and Rangiya-Silchar services. Additionally, several long-distance services, including the Agartala-Secunderabad and Agartala-Firozpur Cant. trains have also been impacted.
Partial Cancellation: This applies to other services like the SMVT Bengaluru-Agartala Humsafar Express and the Tejas Rajdhani Express from Anand Vihar Terminal to Agartala, which will terminate earlier than scheduled. Passengers on these routes will see their trains end at Guwahati or Lumding, depending on the specific route.
Rescheduled: The Silchar-Thiruvananthapuram train has been rescheduled to depart later than planned, now set for 9:50 p.m. on November 1, as recovery teams work to clear the track.
Senior railway officials have been dispatched to the site to oversee repair and restoration efforts, with normal train movement anticipated to resume later today. Meanwhile, affected passengers are advised to stay updated through official channels, as significant schedule adjustments have been made.
