GUWAHATI: In the Sidli assembly bye-election, Nirmal Kumar Brahma of the United People’s Party, Liberal (UPPL) won with 95,243 votes outpacing his closest competitor, Suddho Kumar Basumatary of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), by a significant margin of 37,016 votes.

Earlier, the BJP secured victory in the Behali assembly constituency. BJP candidate Diganta Ghatowal triumphed over Congress candidate Jayanta Borah by a margin of 9,051 votes, receiving 50,947 votes in total.
