Gold Worth Rs. 53 Lakh Seized at Guwahati Airport

GUWAHATI: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) recovered two gold bars weighing around 1.3 kg worth Rs 53 lakh at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport on January 21.

According to reports, CISF apprehended two persons namely, Nitin Sahu and Amit Mehra travelling to Mumbai during security check.

Reportedly, 2 pieces cylindrical shape Gold bar weighing 650 gms approx was concealed inside body cavity. 

Later on suspicion, one another man, Amit Mehra who travelling in same flight also apprehended by scrutinizing CCTV footage and recovered 02 pieces cylindrical shape gold weighing 650 gm from body cavity.

It is to be mentioned that a total of 4 pieces of cylindrical shape yellow metal, total weight 1300 Grams with present market value of Rs. 53 Lakhs was recovered.
