GUWAHATI: After facing public backlash over the recently revised ticket prices for the Brahmaputra Riverfront View in Panbazar, the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has decided to slash the ticket rates.
The Brahmaputra Riverfront, known for its tranquil ambiance and breathtaking scenery, stirred controversy when it was announced that individuals aged between 10 to 75 years would be required to pay ₹100 to enjoy the panoramic view.
However, in a positive turn of events, GMDA has now revised the ticket prices, reducing them from ₹100 to a more affordable ₹50. This move is expected to appease the concerns raised by visitors and make the experience more accessible to a wider audience.
Furthermore, in the revised rate, children below 12 years of age will be able to enter the Brahmaputra Riverfront view premises for free.
Talking to GPlus, a senior official from GMDA said, "The ticket prices for the Brahmaputra Riverfront view have been reconsidered, and we have decided to lower it to ₹50 from the initially proposed ₹100."
On January 24, Union Home Minister Amit Shah officially launched the Brahmaputra Riverfront beautification project in Panbazar, Guwahati.
