GUWAHATI: In a respite to people driving to Fancy Bazar, Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has opened an area of 7280 sq. m. (approximately) within the Old Jail premises temporarily for parking of private vehicles – both two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
The facility will be available only during the day from 7 am to 9 pm. Night parking facility will not be available and no commercial vehicles will be allowed to park.
The entry and exit to the parking lot will be from SRCB Road. The parking will be operated on GMDA charges as follows:
Four-wheelers: Rs 10/- for the first two hours and Rs 10/- for every subsequent hour.
Two-wheelers: Rs 5/- for the first two hours and Rs 5/- for every subsequent hour.
The parking fee will be collected through Android POS based ticketing system.
