GMCH Ward Boy Arrested For Assaulting Minor Patient

GUWAHATI: A minor was allegedly sexually assaulted by a ward boy at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Tuesday, January 21.

Talking to GPlus, an official from Bhangagarh Police Station said, "The girl, 13 years old and a patient at the hospital, had her mother file an FIR, alleging that she was assaulted by the ward boy in the Superspeciality ward." 

"The accused has been arrested and is now under judicial custody", the official told GPlus. 

Speaking to GPlus, a GMCH official explained, "The ward boy is not an employee of GMCH; he is outsourced. Also, the girl and the boy have known each other for a year, so it's difficult to classify this as a case of sexual assault or rape."
