GUWAHATI: A professor from the Department of Assamese at Gauhati University (GU) has been accused of sexual harassment from a research scholar at the university.
Based on reports, a complaint has been lodged by the research scholar with the internal complaints committee (ICC) of the university on charges of molestation by a senior faculty member.
In her complaint, the researcher mentioned that she was molested by the professor who is her research supervisor when the latter allegedly locked the door to his cabin and forcefully kissed her when she went to show him some papers in regard to her research.

It has been reported that the ICC will convene a meeting on October 21 to discuss this complaint.
