Gauhati High Court gives Interim Bail to Ranjan Daimary

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court on January 25 gave interim bail to Ranjan Daimary and will be flown to New Delhi.

According to reports, Daimary is expected to meet other Bodo leaders where they are expecting a new Bodo treaty.

As per the new treaty, the existing BTC will be upgraded to Bodoland Union Council and all the four factions of the NDFB, ABSU and Bodo political eites have endorsed it.
Earlier on January 28, 2019 the special court convicted the chief of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) Ranjan Daimary and 14 others in the 2008 Assam serial bombing case triggered by NDFB on October 30, 2008 in Guwahati, Kokrajhar, Bongaigaon and Barpeta, killing 88 people and leaving more than 500 injured.
