GUWAHATI: Deputy Commissioner of Cachar district has declared many villages of the district as containment zones.
42 people returned to Cachar from Ajmer Shariff in Rajasthan on 6th May. One on them showed symptoms of COVID-19. But the rest had left for their respective villages after arriving. However, 5 of them have been tested positive as of now.
"There are chances of having more coronavirus patients amongst the passengers of the bus," said health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a press conference today.
As such four villages where the passengers went have been declared as containment zones.
The patients have been hospitalized at Silchar Medical College and 158 people have been facility-quarantined.
Contact tracing is under process.
