Four persons were arrested by Sonapur Police this afternoon after they open fired on dogs in the Morogdola area of Sonapur.
According to sources, an officer, Sanjeev R Marak of Special Force-10 of Meghalaya Police including other three persons namely Terang Amver, Tengsan Sangma and Fiu Marak were first caught by the public and later handed over to the Sonapur Police for open firing on dogs in public.
Talking to G Plus, Officer-in-Charge, Sonapur Police Station said that the arrested persons have confessed that they fired upon the dogs to kill them for its meat.
A 9mm pistol and 10 rounds of live bullets were recovered from their possession and an auto-rickshaw (bearing registration ML 10B 0813) was also seized by the police.
