Firstly, a 250-meter pontoon bridge connecting Mojoli and Rani Chapori has been sanctioned at a cost of ₹1.50 crore. The bridge is expected to improve local transportation and provide much-needed support to the region’s agricultural economy. This initiative follows Sarma’s visit to Rani Chapori on January 14, where he emphasised the need for better connectivity and infrastructure in the region.
Designed to bear loads up to 1.5 tons, the bridge will facilitate the movement of thelas, e-rickshaws, and three-wheelers, significantly easing transportation for farmers in the Char area.
In addition to the bridge, an electrification project worth ₹6.54 crore has been launched to support agricultural activities. The initiative aims to benefit around 400 families, with the electricity connection expected to be commissioned within two months. In this, an 8-km high-tension line will be installed from the nearest power source, in the area. This will connect a total of 25 km with LT lines, as stated by CM. To achieve this, five 63 kVA and another five 25 kVA transformers will be installed to cover 4000 bighas of land in the area.
