Gaurav Gogoi, son of Tarun Gogoi confirmed the development.
The health minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Tarun Gogoi at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and said that "next few hours will be crucial."
Former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi had earlier tested positive for COVID-19 after which he was admitted to GMCH. He has been sick ever since.
