In another case of Flipkart's errant deliveries, a resident of Kokrajhar, Assam has received a fake iPhone.
Dibyendu Das purchased an iPhone worth Rs 1,24,900 from the popular e-commerce site and was shocked and disappointed to find that the product he had received was fake. Speaking to G Plus, Dibyendu said, "I had ordered the iPhone Pro Max from Flipkart on March 1 and received the product on March 4. I realised that the phone was faulty or fake when I connected it to the adapter, as it was being charged extremely slowly. I took the phone to the Reliance Digital store in Bongaigaon to check what was wrong with it. They confirmed my suspicions, the phone was fake."

Das asserted that the unique International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number was different on the box of the phone and on the device itself. The IMEI numbers are usually used in cases of mobile theft.
Repeatedly getting in touch with Flipkart's customer care has not helped resolve Das' situation. The issue was initially set to be resolved in 48 hours but the e-commerce site has been stalling ever since. He has registered a case at the District Consumer Forum in Kokrajhar on March 18 regarding the same.
Speaking to G Plus, Das expressed that he felt cheated as it was an extremely large amount of money. He has not been assured of a refund or return as of yet. He said, "I just want to emphasise that these unfair practices of companies like Flipkart must stop. I hope that these things never happen in our society and I hope that this creates awareness and people take necessary precautions while buying from an e-commerce website."
In a similar instance recently, a Guwahati resident received a block of stone in place of a pair of earphones. Umang Patodia was expecting to receive OnePlus Nord ear pods in his Flipkart package, but he was shocked to see a small block of stone instead. Speaking to G Plus, Patodia confirmed the unusual event and expressed his immense disappointment at the same. "I received the parcel which contained two products. While one product was delivered accurately, the box of ear pods contained only the stone," he told G Plus.
