GUWAHATI: One of leading and most respected film critics and cinema researcher, Aseem Chhabra has drawn up a list of 200 finest Indian films in the last decade.

This exhaustive list of films includes all the critically good films of the last decade in any of the Indian languages, and from all spectrums, mainstream or alternative.

The list includes as many as seven northeastern films, out of which five are Assamese films. Apart from Jahnu Barua's 'Bhoga Khirikee', the list also includes both Bhaskar Hazarika's 'KothaNodi' and 'Aamis', and Rima Das's 'Village Rockstars' and 'Bulbul Can Sing'. It also includes the Haibom Paban Kumar's Manipuri film 'Lady of the Lake' and Dominic Sangma's Garo film 'Ma'Ama'.

It is worth mentioning here that Assamese-origin film producer, Shahnaab Alam, who is now based in Mumbai, has six films in this list which have his involvement in various capacities as a producer. From the same list Alam has been a producer on Jahnu Barua's 'Bhoga Khirikee', Anurag Kashyap's 'Ugly', Ritesh Batra's 'The LunchBox', Nikkhil Advani's 'D-Day', Amit Kumar's 'Monsoon Shootout' and Vasan Bala's 'Peddlers'.
