GUWAHATI: The first freight train ran on Bogibeel Bridge, India's longest road-cum-rail bridge with a phenomenal stretch of 4.94 kilometres and will connect the town of Dibrugarh in the south to Dhemaji to the river's north.
NFR sources said after the successful trial run of the loaded freight train, the railway authority will run passenger train on trial basis soon.

Bogibeel is the fourth rail-road bridge on the Brahmaputra river in Assam.
On October 3, 2018, the first speed test with a rail engine from Dhamal Gaon Railway Station to the southern approach of the Bogibeel was carried out.
