GUWAHATI: A fire broke out at an electronics showroom in the Old Balibat area of Assam’s Jorhat on Sunday, April 6, reducing it to ashes. Multiple fire tenders were rushed to the spot and worked for hours to douse the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

Although there were no reports of casualties, electronics worth several lakhs were reportedly destroyed in the incident.
Speaking to GPlus, an official from the Jorhat Police Station said, “A fire broke out in an electronics showroom in Old Balibat. We are investigating the cause, though a short circuit is suspected. Electronic items worth several lakhs have been damaged in the blaze.”
Further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the fire.
