Fire breaks out near Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj, halts Magenta Metro line services

GUWAHATI: A massive fire broke out in a furniture market near Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj metro station in the early Friday morning of June 21.

The fire started around 5:55 am and then spread across 2,000 square yard of area, thereby causing disruption to the services of Magenta line.

Altogether 17 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to control the fire. The reason fire is yet to be known. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Following the incident, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) said in a tweet, “Train movement has been stopped temporarily between Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh and Kalindi Kunj due to smoke and fire from a fire underneath the section. We regret the inconvenience.”
