GUWAHATI: A fire broke out at a restaurant located near the entrance of Guwahati Railway Station on Thursday, January 16. The incident occurred around 1:15 PM and was promptly attended to by the Guwahati Fire and Emergency Safety Services (F&ESS).

The restaurant, designed to resemble a railway coach, saw the fire originate in its kitchen. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control by 2:12 PM using water spray. While no casualties were reported, significant damage was sustained.
According to fire department officials, the property, owned by Abhishek Ghosh, was valued at ₹50 lakh. However, the fire resulted in losses estimated at ₹15 lakh, while assets worth ₹35 lakh were saved.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the source of the blaze. No further disruptions were reported in the area following the incident.
