Fire Breaks Out At Girls' Hostel In Greater Noida, Two Jump Off

 

GUWAHATI: A massive fire broke out at the Annapurna Girls Hostel in Knowledge Park-3, Greater Noida, on Thursday evening, March 27 triggering panic among residents. The fire, which reportedly started due to an air conditioner explosion, spread rapidly, forcing several students to flee for safety.

While many hostel residents managed to evacuate in time, two girls were trapped on the second floor. Videos from the scene showed huge flames engulfing the building, with thick smoke billowing from the windows. In a desperate bid to escape, the stranded girls attempted to climb down using a ladder with the help of locals. Unfortunately, one of them slipped and fell while trying to reach safety.

According to the fire department, the girl did not suffer serious injuries and is now safe. Firefighters responded swiftly to the emergency, bringing the blaze under control before it could cause further damage.

Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Choubey confirmed that the fire department received a distress call around 5 PM and acted promptly. "Our team reached the scene immediately and successfully controlled the fire. Fortunately, there has been no loss of life," he stated.
Authorities have assured that all necessary legal procedures are being followed, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the fire. Meanwhile, hostel residents and their families have been urged to remain cautious about fire safety measures.
